Business zones benefit from superfast broadband roll-outs
Two business hubs in the UK are now benefiting from superfast broadband following the completion of their respective roll-outs.
Firstly, it has been announced this week that - thanks to a joint £30,000 investment from Hartlepool Borough Council, the Government’s Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) programme and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) - businesses in the Queens Meadow Business Park in Hartlepool now have access to superfast broadband.
The Queens Meadow Business Park is the first area within the wider Tees Valley Enterprise Zone to be targeted by the infrastructure upgrade. The faster fibre broadband will be available to all 110 businesses based on the park, with the speeds of up to 80Mbps expected to provide a huge boost to their working practices.
Councillor Kevin Cranney, chair of Hartlepool Council’s Regeneration Services Policy Committee, commented: "In the modern technological age, efficient communication systems are vital to enable companies to compete successfully in a global market.
"Superfast broadband is an additional welcome boost to the excellent services and facilities we have at Queens Meadow and has been achieved through excellent partnership working by a number of key organisations."
Meanwhile, Northamptonshire County Council has also announced this week that Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone now has access to superfast broadband after the roll-out was completed more than three months early.
Councillor Andre Gonzalez De Savage, county council cabinet member for strategic infrastructure and economic growth, said: "Providing superfast broadband to the enterprise zone is of strategic importance for the county's economy and this new infrastructure will help to retain businesses here, support their growth and be a real boost to attract further inward investment to the area.
"Fast broadband is crucial for businesses across Northamptonshire and our local economy. More than 6,000 local companies which otherwise wouldn't be served are set to benefit from broadband plans now in place through the Superfast Northamptonshire project."
Almost all businesses today need reliable, superfast broadband, which is not always available in their area, so getting a dedicated leased line for the premises can be the best solution. hSo provides managed networks designed for business - to get an instant cost for a leased line at your location, visit our online leased line price checker.
