Wembley has fastest broadband in the UK
A new development in Wembley Park, London, has the fastest broadband in the UK.
Residents and businesses at the Wembley Park location have been given access to download speeds of 1Gbps following the installation of new fibre optic cables in the area.
Forum House and Quadrant Court, Empire Way, already had 100Mbps broadband speeds but the new upgrade ensures the area has the fastest internet speeds in the country.
Resident Carrie Webster said: "Moving into a flat with broadband already wired in was great. This kind of speed is brilliant as well.
"I can stream films and surf the net at the same time and never worry about the connection dropping out."
Fast and reliable business broadband connections have become increasingly important to companies in the last few years as they move into the digital era.
With so much business being done via the internet in the 21st century, those organisations that do not have quick internet speeds are at risk of being left behind by their rivals.
The Wembley Park development is the first in the UK to hit download speeds of 1Gbps but it is likely more areas will soon follow suit and give residents and businesses access to superfast broadband in the coming months.
Ben Fillmore from photography and marketing firm E-House said his company moved to Wembley Park a few months ago and has already seen a big difference as a result of the fast broadband.
He told the London Evening Standard: "For us connectivity is absolutely critical to us and we've managed to save about £50,000 a year by moving here.
"In a year or so this is going to be a radically different place because it’s an absolute no-brainer for businesses to come here. You get dirt-cheap connectivity."
Wembley Park may therefore soon become home to a thriving business community as a result of the fast broadband that is available in this part of London.
Businesses looking to move services into the cloud should evaluate the performance of their existing network and consider setting up a leased line or MPLS network.
