More businesses set to opt for hybrid cloud services
An expert tech consultant has recently spoken out in favour of hybrid cloud computing technology, claiming that firms can benefit from adopting cloud services.
Although some may remain sceptical about the security standards maintained through cloud computing, Peter Job, the chief executive of consultancy Intergence Systems, said private cloud services can offer a solution.
"If you look at private cloud, people have been doing that for some time - virtualised environments are essentially a private cloud,” he stated. “We've done this ourselves already [as] we've been using things like Amazon services - so you can then have a nice combination of the best of both worlds."
As a result of this, greater confidence in private cloud, Mr Job predicts a major move towards hybrid cloud technology in 2012. "If you don't want [information] outside the organisation, you can keep it inside using a hybrid model," he added.
Mr Job was also keen total about the developments in the industry in the year to come, which he believes will be numerous. He is particularly sure that European businesses will start to adopt cloud services at a similar rate the US, which has already embraces the technology. He explained, "If you look at the US market, cloud computing has really, really taken off in a big way. Obviously, it's a much bigger market than Europe, but I think they seem to be embracing the technology and as with most things - what tends to start in America then tends to come across to Europe quite quickly.”
Businesses looking to move services into the cloud, should evaluate the performance of their existing network and consider setting up a leased line or MPLS network.
