Google Cloud announces new partnership with crypto exchange
Google Cloud has announced a new long-term strategic partnership with crypto exchange Coinbase “to better serve the growing Web3 ecosystem and its developers.” The deal will allow Coinbase to benefit from Google Cloud’s infrastructure and data analytics and expand the business scope of cryptocurrency.
Thomas Kurian, CEO at Google Cloud said: "We want to make building in Web3 faster and easier, and this partnership with Coinbase helps developers get one step closer to that goal."
"We're proud Coinbase has chosen Google Cloud as its strategic cloud partner, and we're ready to serve the thriving global Web3 customer and partner ecosystem. Our focus is making it frictionless for all customers to take advantage of our scalability, reliability, security, and data services, so they can focus on innovation in the Web3 space."
The partnership will benefit Google Cloud customers as it will mean that those aligned with Web3 systems can pay for cloud services with a number of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Solana and Dogecoin.
The deal will also mean that Google Cloud will become Coinbase’s official cloud provider and will work with the cryptocurrency firm to expand its exchange and data platform.
Not only will Coinbase be able to expand its reach by using Google’s premium fibre optic network as part of the partnership, but the crypto exchange will use Google Cloud to build its cloud-based architecture and benefit from Google’s computing power for advanced data services, enabling Coinbase to provide its customers with machine learning-driven crypto insights.
Coinbase CEO, Brian Armstrong said that Coinbase is excited about working with Google Cloud to bring Web3 to a wider audience while providing powerful solutions to developers. Over the past few years, Coinbase has provided its clients with cutting-edge and professional crypto services.
Coinbase, which is currently available in over 100 countries, and can be freely used in both the UK and US, is hoping that the partnership with Google Cloud will benefit its worldwide expansion.
