Polish grocery chain digitises processes and improves efficiency with Microsoft
Founded in 1998, Zabka Polska is a Polish grocery chain with over 6,600 stores run on a franchise basis by close to 5,000 franchisees. As a leading player in the Central and Eastern European convenience store sector, internal processes and communication are vital to the business, especially with the challenges COVID-19 now poses for retailers.
However, most of Zabka Polska’s processes still utilised paper, which meant that communications were drawn out, creating challenges for the business and its clients. The firm sought a solution to digitise these processes and help it optimise service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company implemented a Microsoft Sharepoint platform to digitise workflow, with the customised solution leveraging the Microsoft Azure App Service for greater flexibility. Azure SQL Database, meanwhile, was used to improve scalability and optimise system performance. Furthermore, all data stored on the platform could be visualised using Power BI data analytics.
This solution has significantly sped up the pace of Zabka Polska’s processes and improved the quality of internal customer service that it provides to franchisees. Features such as document sharing and data reports have also enabled greater collaboration between employees.
Since the migration, Zabka Polska’s Microsoft platform has given it an agile solution that means it receives workflow updates far quicker than it previously did, positioning the company well for dynamic growth.
Michal MasÅowski, IT Senior Service Operations Manager at Zabka Polska, commented: “The organization of processes on the Microsoft SharePoint platform is appreciated by the entire organization because it provides the possibility of quick and easy exchange of documents and common work on projects.”
MasÅowski added: “Enabling the digitization of processes that were in paper forms, replacing them with digital solutions, helped us organize these processes. One of the biggest advantages is being able to work together on given documents, which has had a positive impact on work efficiency.”
