Jewellery retailer drives sales increase with Microsoft Azure
Operating around 50 retail stores across Ukraine, Amadeo (Pandora Ukraine) is jewellery brand Pandora’s only official distributor in the country. The company has over 300 employees and serves thousands of customers on a weekly basis. However, the business was lumbered with aging on-premises data storage and servers.
Faced with deciding whether to invest in replacing these systems or migrating to the cloud, the choice became obvious when Amadeo realised it could save at least 20 per cent of the firm’s IT budget through a cloud migration with Microsoft Azure. However, while this remained a vital aspect of the move, the company also took its migration further by automating processes.
The company’s Commercial, Marketing and HR divisions have now sped up and improved their internal decision making through Azure data services, such as Azure Machine Learning and Microsoft Power BI.
Amadeo CEO Eugenia But explained the key benefits of automation: “We have improved working times of our stores, as well as our stock refresh, which is one of our key KPIs as a business. We save time, as more than 50 per cent of routine operations are now automated, have optimized stock ordering by 5 per cent and, best of all, after implementing Azure technology, our sales have gone up 2 per cent.”
Along with this 2 per cent sales increase, the company has also achieved the 20 per cent cost saving on its IT budget that it initially targeted, as well as improved data security. Looking forward, Amadeo plans to take automation further and apply it to two key processes, production order placement and stock replenishment, via Azure Machine Learning and serverless calculations.
But says: “We are about to go deeper into the concept of dynamic assortment, where a well-trained software model will calculate not only demand from warehouse to the stores, but is also able to offer stock rotations between branches in order to speed up goods rotation and further increase sales.”
